Helping Women be the most Beautiful, Inside and Out

Makeup Your Mind

Makeup is an important accessory that can help you look and feel your best.   Remember your true beauty is what’s on the inside, but it is benefical to make the packaging pleasant as well.  Your appearance is what attracts people to you, then once they get to know you they can see your heart.  It doesn’t work in the reverse.

It starts with the image you have of yourself in mind.  Then you tranform that image onto your face.  The art of applying makeup is tricky business tough. When it is done right, makeup magically conceals flaws and imperfections and enhances your best facial features all at the same time.  Makeup can transform you into any look you want, with infinite possibilities.

Maybe you are the type that doesn’t wear makeup at all because you think you don’t have nice facial features to emphasize anyway.  You might think makeup makes you look sleezy. Or you think because you don’t look like a movie star you shouldn’t wear any?

Well let me tell you that movie stars don’t have naturally great looks either!  Makeup is the key to make a Plan Jane into a Gorgeous Star.

Just look at some of these Stars without their makeup, and tell me they look better than you!   Makeup is a tool, you just need to know how to use it to your benefit.

Sure these stars have professional Makeup Artists to transform them from ugly ducklings into beautiful swans.

But you can learn how to use makeup yourself to bring out your best features, and diminish your flaws (don’t worry eveyone has them).

It doesn’t need to take hours to look beautiful if you know the best technics and understand how to work with your specific facial features.

Have you ever wondered which colors of blush or lipstick would complement your skin tone, or your hair and eye colors?  Choosing the wrong colors will give you that blah, worn-out look. Choosing the right colors, however, will accentuate your natural features and make you glow.

To help you find out what season you are and choose the right colors to look your best  check out my article on What Season are You?.

All the shades of blush, eyeshadows and lipstick fit into two basic color catagories either warm or cool.   Check out this chart to help you see which colors fit you.  Just be careful to not put on too much blush, you don’t want to look like a clown with big red cheeks.  You just want to give your face a little color to look healthy and vibrant.

Warm skin tones have yellow undertones,  whereas cool skin tones have rose undertones.  Lighter shades should be worn for lighter skin tones and darker shades for darker skin tones.

Here are various Foundation colors separated into cool and warm shades.

The color of eyeshadows you choose should enhance the shape and color of your eyes.  But don’t try to match your eyeshadow to the color of your clothes or it will diminish the most expressive part of your face that accentuates your beauty.

There are many sites and books available that can help you with the specific technics of applying makeup.  Have fun learning and don’t be afraid to experiment with different looks until you find what looks best on you.  I’ll be writing more articles on this topic as well in the coming months so stay tuned!

The big secret to wearing makeup is to make it look like you’re not wearing any. When makeup is applied properly what should be emphasized are your own naturally beautiful features.

Just remember you can look like a Star if you make up your mind to it!
